What Counts as a Business Day Here

A “business day” in this calculator is simply any Monday through Friday. Both the start date and end date are included in the count. The calculator first finds the total number of calendar days spanning the range, then works out how many of those days fall on a Saturday or Sunday, and subtracts them to get the business-day total.

Worked example: from Wednesday, January 3 to Wednesday, January 10 (inclusive) is 8 calendar days. Two of those days — Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th — are weekend days. That leaves 6 business days: Wed, Thu, Fri, Mon, Tue, Wed.

Important limitation: this calculator does notapply any public-holiday calendar. National, regional or company-specific holidays (e.g. New Year's Day, Christmas, Independence Day) are not excluded — every Monday through Friday is counted as a working day regardless of whether it's a holiday. If your use case depends on excluding specific holidays, subtract those days manually from the result.

This tool complements the Date Calculator, which gives you the raw calendar difference between two dates without separating out weekends.
